Plus, you can always go in with the eraser and remove any aspects you don't like from the various layers. If you make a bad stroke, you simply tap two fingers on the screen to undo. This realism opens up a lot of possibilities, but the program also allows you to cheat since it's more forgiving than traditional mediums. This really helps you get the exact feel you're going for with your work. Plus, you can adjust how much water is on the brush, the opacity, and the flow, thus affecting what it looks like when you make strokes on the screen. Similarly, the harder you press down with the vector brush, the thicker the strokes become, allowing you to give depth to your images like you can do with physical pen and ink. In addition to drawing with the Apple Pencil's tip, you can even use the sides of the tip to produce a scumble effect for soft shading. The pencil tool responds to pressure and looks just as though I've been sketching in my notepad. The water color brushes spread and create that familiar cloudy effect whenever I put down multiple brush strokes. Strokes look true to life like they've been made with physical mediums instead of on a tablet. Whenever I use the various tools, the program responds so realistically that it looks exactly as though the designs have been created with physical art supplies instead of via tablet. True-to-life effects Looks like the physical medium If you're already a fan of the Creative Cloud (opens in new tab), this is a great companion software and if you aren't familiar with Adobe's other programs, it's a far more user-friendly starting point compared to Photoshop or Illustrator. However, you only need to upgrade to the paid version if you'd like access to additional brushes and tools. There is a premium subscription for Adobe Fresco. It's available on a number of iOS and Android tablets (opens in new tab) and there are plans to bring it to even more devices. I used it in my testing and found that it pairs beautifully with Adobe Fresco. Though the software is free, I will say that you will definitely want to use the Apple Pencil (opens in new tab) in order to get the most out of this app. In the 30+ hours I spent testing it, I discovered that not only is the interface incredibly easy to navigate, but the tools work beautifully and give you plenty of control when designing. I had the opportunity to test Adobe Fresco on an iPad Pro - a free drawing and painting app created specifically for tablets.

The pleather or plastic faux leather back is here again, in your choice of black or white. Once you get used to the size, it makes 10' tablets seem a tad trivial the experience is that nice. That said, it offers more screen real estate, which makes web browsing, watching videos or using the included PC Remote Access app much more compelling. It will fit on an airplane tray tablet but until you get used to it, the tablet will feel like a white board rather than a note pad. It's best held in the crook of an arm rather than trying to one-hand it. The footprint is certainly larger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition or the 9.7' iPad Air, and it's less maneuverable. The 1.65 pound, 0.32' thick tablet is clearly superbly thin and not terribly heavy for a big tablet. The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat and it has dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS with GLONASS, a 2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, HDR and 1080p video recording and a 9500 mAh battery that's sealed inside. Those are the WiFi model prices we don't yet know how much LTE 4G equipped models will sell for. But the price, $750 for the 32 gig model and $850 for the 64 gig model, makes it almost as expensive as current Windows Ultrabooks. With a fast quad core CPU, 3 gigs of DDR3 RAM and expandable storage via microSD card and USB, it's powerful. Samsung's new Magazine UX is a welcome update to TouchWiz, and the icons and window treatment are more mature. The high resolution Super Clear LCD running at 2560 x 1600 is superb, with rich colors, good contrast and brightness. It comes with Samsung's S Pen that uses Wacom technology for fluid, precise and pressure sensitive pen input. This 12.2' tablet manages to be as light as many 10' tablets, and it's one of the thinnest at 0.32'. Now that we have the release version in hand, I still feel that way. In Chief (twitter: I first saw the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 at the CES trade show last month, two things hit me hard: I wanted one badly and the price was frightening. What's Not: It's a handful (too large for some folks), expensive. What's Hot: Huge and lovely high res display with S Pen, very thin and quite light given screen size, excellent Office suite included, pleasing new Magazine UX, fast, good multi-tasking.
